Design and Technical Support

The Technical Department of SMP is based in our Clacton-on-Sea office, and comprises a team of Naval Architects with decades of experience in the propeller industry. They offer a complete propeller design service for any configuration, from the largest container vessels to specialised vessels such as low noise survey ships and naval vessels. The team is equipped with the theoretical understanding and practical knowledge to handle all technical aspects of the propeller design and propeller manufacture business.

The technical policy of Stone Marine Propulsion is to provide a comprehensive service, flexible in approach, and tailored to suit the individual requirements of every customer. We judge our success in terms of the number of valued customers who continue to place their trust in SMP and regularly favour us with their business.

The Technical Department can be relied upon to provide:-

Project support to shipyards to ensure accurate realistic information is made available to establish propeller dimensions and performance characteristics.

Technical support to ship owners in the analysis of propeller performance and the methods available to optimise operating performance over the long term.

Hydrodynamic support to the service companies of the Langham Industries Group thereby ensuring a complete maintenance and service function is available round the clock.

Consultancy services to clients requiring the application of specialist knowledge in all propeller matters.

Drawings and technical support to the Company’s manufacturing units around the world.
